A.K. Nairn

A.K. Nairn was born and bred in Duns, in the Scottish Borders. He grew up fascinated by the bloody history of this now sleepy region. In particular, he was drawn to the tale of a French diplomat, who was given the thankless job of keeping order on the frontier. He felt that this poor man deserved better, so started writing this series to give him some belated time in the sun. Or at least in the icy wind and rain.

 

Along the way, he's also turned his historical research into the first-ever interactive map of the world of the reivers.
